Neurosurgery encompasses a wide range of intracranial and spinal procedures with evolving areas in awake craniotomies, functional neurosurgery, interventional neuroradiology and intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Neuroanaesthesia providers must have a good understanding of neurophysiology and the underlying neurological pathophysiology to be able to deliver the most optimum operating conditions for neurosurgical patients. Perioperative multi-professional approach ensures high-quality, safe care and excellent patient experience. © 2022
