Abstract

Infection with the protozoan parasite Cryptosporidium is an important public 15 health concern worldwide. Cryptosporidiosis is of particular concern in immunocompromised 16 individuals where symptoms may be severe. The aim of this study therefore, was to examine the 17 epidemiological and molecular characteristics of Cryptosporidium infections in HIV/AIDS 18 patients in Malaysia in order to identify risk factors and facilitate control measures
