Today’s communication is based on packet transmission, which raises the challenge of allocation of available bandwidth with the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. Various bandwidth allocation methods are used to allocate the network resources that need to schedule incoming packets and afterward benefit them distinctively as indicated by their requirements. This paper investigated the WFQ scheduler and proposed an iterative mathematical model to allocate average bandwidth. The paper aims to present the results of our investigation into QoS support mechanisms available in MPLS for different traffic types. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
