This study analyzes the evolution of doctoral education research in China from 2010 to 2020, particularly under the aegis of China's ``Double First-Class'' initiative. Using scientific knowledge mapping and bibliometric analysis on 279 relevant articles from the China Knowledge Network Database (CNKI) and the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI), we note a surge in research in 2020 corresponding to specific education policies. The study identifies Nanjing Agricultural University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University as major contributors. However, it finds no prominent core group of authors, following Price's Law. Most published work is in educational journals, with three leading journals providing 42% of the total output. The study identifies key themes including quality assurance, globalization, education reform, professional degrees, andworld-class universities. This research offers insights into China's doctoral education landscape, informing future academic research and policy decision-making.
