Abstract

With the growing incidence of NAFLD on a global scale, management pathways and pharmacologic treatment options are eagerly awaited. Metabolic derangement in NAFLD associated with obesity is a key driver of disease progression and could be a useful target for pharmacologic intervention. Although NAFLD is more prevalent among individuals with obesity, an increasing prevalence among lean individuals has also been reported.
