Abstract

The electron transport layer (ETL) plays a pivotal role in polymer solar cell (PSC) for improving the efficiency. TiO2 is widely used as ETL, but it has low electron mobility and poor conductivity. Here, we demonstrated the incorporation of the novel gamma-radiated g-C3N4 additive into the TiO2-based ETL polymer solar cell. The gamma-radiated g-C3N4 tunes the surface morphology of the ETL into smoother and denser film relatively than the reference film. The gamma-radiated g-C3N4 modified ETL also shows improved charge transfer properties. As a result, the device with modified ETL containing gamma-radiated g-C3N4 additives shows a double enhancement of PCE with respect to the reference device.
